Action for Development (ACFODE) is an indigenous, voluntary, non-governmental women’s organization whose formation was stimulated by the United Nations Third World Conference on Women held in Nairobi in July 1985. Since inception 25 years ago, ACFODE has been an effective platform of debate and action on issues related to the women’s empowerment in Uganda. This has been done through consolidated advocacy for policy formulation, research, capacity building, coalition building, mobilization and sensitization as her core strategies geared towards enhancing the capacity of Ugandans to champion the women’s cause and gender equality on the national agenda.

ACDHRS is an independent, Pan African non-governmental organization established by the Gambian government in 1989. Its aim is the promotion and protection of human rights in Africa through the establishment and maintenance of a human rights movement spanning the continent. ACDHRS also seeks to collaborate with, support and encourage the work of partners, through the development and strengthening of effective implementation and use of international standards and instruments.

FEMNET, or the African Women’s Development and Communication Network, is a pan-African, feminist organisation working to advance the rights of women and girls since inception in 1988. FEMNET facilitates the sharing of information, ideas, strategies and experiences amongst its members who are in over 40 countries across Africa and the Diaspora. It has played a critical role in informing and mobilising African women to participate and influence policies and processes that affect their lives.
FEMNET, ou le Réseau de développement et de communication des femmes africaines, est une organisation féministe panafricaine qui œuvre à la promotion des droits des femmes et des filles depuis sa création en 1988. FEMNET facilite le partage d’informations, d’idées, de stratégies et d’expériences entre ses membres qui se trouvent dans plus de 40 pays d’Afrique et de la diaspora. Il a joué un rôle essentiel dans l’information et la mobilisation des femmes africaines pour qu’elles participent et influencent les politiques et les processus qui affectent leur vie.

African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is a grant-making foundation which supports local, national and regional organisations in Africa working towards women’s empowerment. AWDF through institutional capacity building and programme development seeks to build a culture of learning and partnerships within the African women’s movement.
African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) est une fondation subventionnaire qui soutient les organisations locales, nationales et régionales d’Afrique œuvrant pour l’autonomisation des femmes. Par le biais du renforcement des capacités institutionnelles et du développement de programmes, AWDF cherche à instaurer une culture d’apprentissage et de partenariat au sein du mouvement des femmes africaines.
